I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Colorado and bring three years of classroom teaching experience. I am excited to cultivate strong relationships with my scholars as well as their families. A huge thank you to all the families who joined us yesterday evening for our school tour and to experience classical education as a scholar with our incredible teachers! Mr. Bird modeled a history lesson using the Declaration of Independence, Mr. Fenster walked us through the Trojan Wars and taught us the meaning of the Greek word "aristeia", Mrs. Brook taught us about the Presidents of Mt. Rushmore, and Mrs. Lewton read us "Frog and Toad", modeling how we incorporate our Core Values into our literature discussions. Our scholars receive a content-rich, immersive education, and we will continue to offer more opportunities for you to experience classical education for yourself! Our Homeschool Enrichment classrooms are almost ready for Back to School night next Wednesday! Furniture has arrived, curriculum is in the rooms, and our flags are installed! We can't wait to meet all our scholars next week, and we have available seats remaining! Check out some of the projects we're preparing for: Nature Studies, Creative Writing and Art, Greek and Roman Heroes, Literature, and Geography and Map Making! Week two of in-service training began with furniture being delivered into classrooms, cameras and projector installation, and our trainers from the Lyceum helping us to dive into school culture and classical pedagogy. We're grateful to have a network of great schools and great educators who are working to bring our scholars the best education. Interested in learning more? The past two days have been full! Yesterday, our teachers and volunteers worked hard to empty out the shipping container-all our curriculum is in the building! Today, crews worked all morning and afternoon to deliver our furniture! Installation begins Monday, and we're getting closer to the finish line. Make sure to join us next week-we're offering tours of our beautiful school and opportunities to meet and learn from our great teachers as they model lessons in our curriculum. Another huge milestone reached at John Adams Academy, as our school received our official Certificate of Occupancy! It's one of many amazing things happening at Sterling Ranch's newest school. After so much planning, construction, and hard work, it's exciting to see our school coming to life! Our faculty and staff are hard at work moving curriculum, furniture, and supplies into the building and preparing for our students.

John Adams Academy celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting and flag-raising ceremony on August 1, welcoming families to its new building in Sterling Ranch! Attendees toured classrooms, enjoyed lunch, and met faculty and staff ahead of the academic year. Classes begin August 24, and applications are still open for available seats. Apply today!

Our teachers have been hard at work all day learning about Core Knowledge Science and History. This week we've been working on classroom management, classical pedagogy, and formative assessment through writing. Yesterday, we also dove into Love and Logic, which provides the basis for strong relationships with scholars rooted in empathy. Oh, and Mr. Kenagy got his PA system today! We still have seats available-join us on a tour and come to our curriculum nights to learn more about our great school!
